Snow Blowing Services
Basic Service
Our snow blowing season commences on November 15 and ends on April 15. All Basic Snow customers receive the same priority. Our operations employ geographic logistics to develop the most effective and efficient route to place your driveway. Furthermore, our operations are custom designed for the Guilderland and Rotterdam, NY areas. For small storms (Small storms are 0 to 6″ depending on temperature and weather conditions.), operations commence as the snow has stopped stop and the towns street plows have cleared the streets. For larger storms, we begin to clear driveways at 4” to 6” and continue working until the driveways are cleared. In unusually large snow storms, our start time will depend on the conditions of the roads and our ability to access your driveway safely. While we work diligently to maintain our route, unusually high amounts of snow and town road conditions may slow us down.
We do not clear off cars nor do we shovel around cars to avoid any possible damage. Our technicians will also clear the snow in front of the mailbox, and return the following day as needed to follow up (Snow at bottom of Driveway from the Town Plows).
Custom Service
In the perfect conditions, we strive to provide services before 9 am and 6 pm; however, many snow storms won’t allow us to achieve these results unless you purchase Custom Services. If you request a specific time for the service, there will be an additional service charge of $75.00 for us to change our set route. Note: 24 hour advance notice is required.
Additional Snow Services
Walkway Shoveling
Walkway Clearing is a non-time-sensitive service and may be completed before or after the driveways; During the larger storms, it may take longer to clear the sidewalks. We may also suspend sidewalk clearing due to the hazardous weather conditions that are unsafe for our workers. During larger snow storms, it may take up to 72 hours to clear your walkway. Again, we do not clear off cars nor do we shovel around cars to avoid any possible damage.

Pretreatment (anti-icing and de-icing)
Pretreatment (anti-icing and de-icing) of the driveway and sidewalk (must have for the driveways on the hill) is a service that can be added onto any snow blowing contract. Our technicians will automatically complete operations based on the nature of a snow storm and the forecasted temperature. Meanwhile, our operations cannot guarantee that there will not be ice on the driveway or walkway. Ice storms may require additional applications beyond the scope of the provided service. Furthermore, this is not an on call type service, and we cannot spot treat your driveway or walkway throughout the winter.
Lawn Mowing Services
Lawn season runs from around May through October. We handle your lawn mowing with precision and care, providing 18-24 cuts per season based on your lawn’s needs and weather. Grass is mowed every 7-10 days during rapid growth and every 10-14 days in slower growth periods. We cannot guarantee that we can cut your grass the same day each week due the unpredictability of weather and external factors.
Our technicians will typically cut the grass at the height of 3-4” which varies based on growth and weather. For instance, during the hotter weather and drought, we keep the length of the grass taller in order to help the grass from drying out and burning.
Our commercial walk-behind mowers ensure a superior cut, promoting healthier growth. Mulching blades naturally nourish the lawn, returning essential nutrients. The turf tends to have a more upright growth pattern, better color and more root mass when regularly mowed with a walk-behind mower. Our service also includes routine trimming along edges and blowing hard surfaces.
Fall and Spring Cleanups
Our fall cleanup program is tailored to the needs of your lawn and the community for which we serve. Our operations are aligned with the leaf pickup schedule of the Town of Guilderland for the customers residing in this town. Our two Fall cleanup visits occur 2-5 days prior to the scheduled date of the town. Since Rotterdam has no town leaf pickup, we follow our own schedule based on the weather and site conditions.
We use our commercial leaf blowers to clean out the garden beds, the other hard to reach areas, as well as the lawn areas. Our team systematically moves the leaf debris to the edge of the road for the town to vacuum up. While our standard fall cleanup includes Two Cleanup Visits, you can upgrade your (all-in-one) program by signing up for an additional cleanup.
As winter fades away, our team prepares your lawn for another season of growth and vitality with our spring cleanup. We use our commercial leaf blowers to clean out the garden beds and the other hard to reach areas. The lawn is thatched and receives an initial mowing, while vacuuming the debris off the lawn. All debris is picked up and hauled away from the property.
Mid-Winter Cleanups
For our all-in-one customers, if there’s a break from snow, we provide a mid-winter cleanup. This service removes leaves, sticks, and debris from your lawn to prevent winter damage, boost lawn health, and improve aesthetics.
